𝐒𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐀𝐃 𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐑𝐌𝐄𝐃 𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐖𝐀𝐘 past the guards of course, and akwa just had to see blaiz’s new little plaything that he didn’t mention. she had to learn from his brother of all people, and that didn’t sit right with her. she moved gracefully through the halls, almost dancing as she checked each and every room. finally, she ran into someone that she didn’t recognize. a member of the skaikru. well, that was unexpected.  “you must be the new girl i’ve heard so much about.”

she couldn’t even smile. this was humiliating; at least she could take comfort in the fact that she knew that she had more value than her, any way that she looked at it. “a skai gada, no less. how interesting.” akwa didn’t offer her name nor her reason for being here. no one needed to know that she was snooping around. “and don’t worry, i’m not here to hurt you. i’m not really the fighting type. i just wanted to see for myself what all the fuss was about.”

introducing the cousins au!!✨

so since nick won’t give us more rise, i decided to do it myself!! i’m really intrigued by the mystery of who big mama’s assistant is and the two biggest theories i’ve seen on who they could be are venus de milo and slash. i couldn’t decide which one i liked better, so now they both work for the big spider lady!!

essentially these two were replacement turtles that draxum tried to mutate after lou jitsu made off with our turtle boys, but they were deemed failures because they were too...turtley...so, big mama took them in and raised them as her personal assistants!!

i’m working on more art and a fic for this, so keep an eye out!! i’ll be tagging everything as #cousins au to keep things organized!!

venus’ reference is here!!

i tried to come up with a design that would work well with the four original turtles, but also be different enough to set her apart!! for example, in this au i don’t headcanon the boys as having tails, but i gave venus one since she’s supposed to have a higher concentration of turtle dna than human. same for the turtlier beak and the claws!!

she’s a very stoic and serious kind of turtle, pretty similar to the 2007 movie’s leo. she wants was best for her little brother slash, but she also wants what’s best for the hotel, even if the hotel isn’t what’s best for the both of them. she and slash butt heads over that pretty often. she might also have some lowkey mommy issues, because despite her name, i don’t headcanon big mama as being all that motherly lol

i also made venus a loggerhead sea turtle, which i think live in new york?? if not, the image of huginn and muninn breaking into the aquarium and trying to steal a turtle could be a fun little drabble for later. i gave her some dark scale patterns and sort of residual fins on her elbows. this girl can definitely swim!!
