Scarlett felt as if her entire world was falling apart. And it was all over some stupid fight with Xander over something she had been insecure about when she was texting him. It wasn’t the first time something like this has happened between them, but this time, it felt different in the worst way. So much so that after her night out with his sister, she drunkenly found herself on a bus back to LA. Threatened him that she was done with him and not coming back to the new house they just moved into in Montecito. She wasn’t even coming back for their pets. She was just at the point where she wanted her old life back because she felt like she truly didn’t belong with him and his lifestyle. Almost as if she was just playing house in a way. And she was so close. So fucking close. Two fucking minutes away from the bus leaving, and allowing her the freedom to leave everything she’d built with him behind. But as they continued to text, Xander had already insinuated that he somehow got to the bus station in time and bought a ticket to the same one she was on before it could leave. She swore she’d never hated him so much before. Just when she thought she was finally escaping, here he was being the goddamn white knight (again) to stop her from leaving. Scarlett was quietly, but hysterically sobbing in her seat as she stopped replying to his texts, hoodie pulled over her head as far as it would go to shield herself from anyone seeing her in this state. She was intoxicated, her head felt like it was going to explode, and she felt like the bus was spinning. But no sooner did Scarlett suddenly feel a pair of arms around her and the familiar scent of him quickly taking over. Next thing she knew, she could feel herself being moved and lifted into his arms, however, it didn’t register to her that she was being completely carried off the bus. “Put me down… Let go of me,” Scarlett slurred drunkenly as she continued to sob, but her actions were betraying her words as she grabbed onto Xander’s shirt in a death grip. Because the truth was, she didn’t want him to. She didn’t want him going anywhere. Despite everything that happened tonight and feeling like she was going to be successful in leaving everything behind, he was still the only person she wanted right now.
