There’s no planning, no warning as Richie grabs on to the random members of the O’Shea clan. The moment his thigh lets him do more than just wobble about, he’s set to make sure that the rest of his family is off to a better healing process. Hopefully his little activity for the day would have everyone in better spirits. Though he hasn’t had much time to think or even go through what happened the night of the gala, Richie knows that there are other things to worry about. His own problems have to come in second, his priorities now lay with his family. There’s nothing else he has now. Only them.
Richie ignores the glances his way, his brain on autopilot as he drives them to the all too familiar site. There are bags under his eyes but that doesn’t stop the excitement thrumming through his veins. He can’t lose anything else and he will be damned if he lost any of them to another gun fight. This way, he’ll be sure. Hands on has always been his forte and there were moments throughout the past week that he berated himself for just letting them go out into the gala unprepared. Of course no one was to know what happened, but Fletcher’s ever pestering “I told you so’s” ring in his ears. He can be better.
Parked, he doesn’t wait for anyone before exiting the vehicle, making his way inside the abandoned building. Weeks ago it was a venue for a fun game of paintball. Now it’s going to be yet another location for family bonding. With a smile, he stands in the center, hands behind his back as the rest of the group follow him. There’s a need for an explanation and so Richie delivers.
“We’re going to play a game,” he says apropos of nothing. “Basically hide and seek. Basically what happened a couple of weeks ago.” Back track. Don’t want to think about that now. “I need this family to start working together. We’re only as strong as our weakest link.” Somehow the voice is his but he knows the words are Amelia’s. Mason’s. Those that would have never let the O’Shea’s fall to ruin like this. “So Gio and Dav here are going to be seekers,” he nods towards the men. “Everyone else’s job is to take them both down. Remember, even if they’re as skilled as they are, you have the advantage of numbers.” Reaching into the backpack he still has on, he pulls out two guns, handing both of them to his generals. “These are loaded. There’s ammo all throughout the area. You have to hit at least each of them once. Captain’s orders.”
Looking around, he pretends to think about what else he’s missing before he snaps his fingers. Out of his backpack, Richie retrieves a syringe and vial. “Before I forget, one of the generals has to be on BUA to make it more interesting. Also because I would hope that you all can take them down anyway given the fact that we’ve all been training. Jace, Kitty, Allegra, and Autumn, you all have a minute head start to run. Any questions?”
