I won’t go very deep with this biography of Jefferson written by Igor Efimov but I will say short and simply that the main problem of this book isn’t even a lack of proper sourcing of the material, bad writing or lazy superficial approach to history but the fact that the way he wrote the bio in question you as a reader will ask yourself “well was slavery even that bad? it seems like Jefferson’s servants just had larger family being a part of Jefferson’s, we’re treated well and their master provided for them so was that even that big of a deal that they couldn’t abolish slavery? it seems like Jefferson and Bell were considerable of their needs when they would have died, ended up in prostitution or would have killed themselves, unable to face a life of the free men and women they weren’t accustomed to” because this is exactly the way author puts it
