Day 3: 5 things you love about Pride and Prejudice
1. Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy. (As if anyone really expected anything else.) He's smart, sensitive, an asshole (which apparently is a trait I tend to love in guys), ridiculously considerate and apologetic, headstrong, sexy and so many other adjectives that would take me too long to think of, let alone type.
2. The time period. The Regency Era is mi regencio favorito. Totally just made that up. But it is true. In my own convoluted sense.
3. The Bennets. As a whole, not just Elizabeth. Though in their family dynamic I would totally pick her to be me, the whole 'five children, crazy mother, and laid-back/badass father' scenario hits home. Each of my siblings fits one Bennet daughter in some ways and I love it.
3.5. Bingley. Gotta love Bingley. (I cheated a little. So what?)
4. Its balls. Bahahha. Yes, the balls are not always the major settings in the novel, but the atmosphere is so enveloping that it kinda puts you in a trance. You can actually imagine yourself there, awkwardly seeking out dance partners or stepping on one's toes. Plus, you get to get all dressed up and eat good food and gossip and dance and laugh. All fun things to do. Minus the fact that there weren't any bathrooms and if you had to pee you had to go home. So if that was me back in 1813, my fun would last for like an hour and a half. Sadly.
5. Timeless. Pride and Prejudice has been overwhelmingly popular even though it was published almost 200 years ago. So many people can identify with the novel and I can read it/watch the movie 82734928347021 times and never ever get sick of it. Actually, when I'm sick I watch the 2005 movie and that tends to cure my sickness.
