Sketch dump for the last week. Having fun with the bent nib ink pen. Damn!
god I love my new fude nib ink pen
First time Pen Customizing / Painting !
The sailor fude de mannen in the 55 degree nib only really comes in the green color ive found so i decided to hand paint one of them to be my favorite colors!! Cotton Candy Cow print to the rescue to cutify my favorite pen. Sanded it down gently, then used Acrylic paint + Acrylic Paint markers. Sealed with a high gloss varnish!
Trying a new type of pen.
Pen is the Sailor Profit Jr from the Yurameku set, but I put Wearingeul's Sedna ink in it instead of the Sailor Yurameku Amamoyi ink that came with the pen.
I really love the pen. It's a beautiful pearly cream color that reminds me of super fancy strands of pearls. I put the Sedna ink in it because it reminds me of the lining of my mom's jewelry box as a kid, which was a blue velvet. Plus the classic no-shimmer ink needed something as classy as the pearl pen to go with it.
The fun part about this pen is actually the nib though. Its a Fude nib, so it's bent up at the end and has some fun line variations based on the angle you hold it. It can be used to mimic the traditional ink brush used in Asian calligraphy or some styles of western calligraphy, which is pretty neat.
Still learning how to use it properly for calligraphy purposes, but it's honestly just such a smooth writing experience I love it. Makes me feel like I am almost my grandmother, who had BEAUTIFUL penmanship and letter writing skills. I wish I had written her more when she was here. Not bad for a pen that was $32 for the set including the converter and 10ml bottle of Sailor ink.
