Dog Vomit Slime Mold (Fuligo septica)

Flowers of tan / Dog’s vomit slime mould (Fuligo septica)
This slime mould is usually immediately recognisble by its bright yellow colouring, which you can see here. It sometimes presents as purple, however, when attacked by the rather rare fungi Nectriopsis violacea, which feeds on the slime mould and produces the lovely lavender colour for which it is named violacea.
