Actual Puppy Brandon Rivers || Self-Para
Brandon Rivers is an extremely loyal man.
Growing up, he only had his father. His mother died not long after he was born and his father never remarried or had other children (that Brandon knew about anyway). Ronnie Rivers had a plethora of girlfriends, but none he allowed to get close to Brandon. Brandon remembered one such incident when he was eight and one of the blondes his father had brought back to their run-down apartment was helping him with homework while Ronnie was out. Her efforts had earned her a broken nose from Ronnie and he forced her out of the place. "They only wanna play mommy to you 'cause they think it'll make me take 'em seriously. Whores, all of 'em. See how they're willin' to twist you up just stay on a dick?" Ronnie had explained to Brandon afterward.
Ronnie wasn't a parent of the year, nor was he the worst. Brandon was always fed and clothed. He always got to school and made good grades until he reached middle school. He was never sick, never hurt, never abused. Brandon truly couldn't recall being unhappy as a child.
He spent most of his time alone, either in his father's office in the garage or in the old crumbling apartment he called home. His father told him to "use his imagination" - and Brandon did. He'd race his cars along the floor and if one ever broke, he'd then spend the next few hours finding a way to fix it. Sometimes he'd take the remote control apart and put it back together. One night he obsessively tweaked the antennae on top of the television until the best picture came through, then went off to find something else to do.
A lonely child can go end up in many different ways. In Brandon, the loneliness mostly manifested itself in doing everything he could to earn his father's approval. He was unquestionably loyal to Ronnie. And so the first time he slipped a brick of coke in Brandon's backpack and told him to take it to a particular address, he did so. It'd been late at night and Brandon was afraid to be on the streets alone, but the pat on the head he'd get after overpowered the fear he felt in his gut.
This perverse drive for acceptance and love ultimately drove Brandon to become what he is. He was a good kid. He didn't get in trouble. He made good grades. He was nice to his teachers despite Ronnie's assertions that they were all whores (Brandon didn't care what they were as long as he got a smile and a sticker on the top of his math test). He only began to get in trouble when he hit puberty, when he went from a cute kid to an awkward, gangly teenager with a constantly-cracking voice and hands too big for his wrists. Suddenly, the cute-kid schtick that allowed him to mule undetected stopped working for the cops.
The want to be loved by his father took him a step further in the wrong direction. He learned to fight next. Then he learned how to shoot a gun. He killed his first person when he was only sixteen years old, a gunshot to the back of the head. There'd been a moment in Brandon where he nearly broke down and wanted to let the weight of what he'd just done crush him. But Ronnie Rivers had wrapped his arms around Brandon's shoulders and, with a big smile, proclaimed "my son!" to the group of men looking on. He learned how to bury his guilt after that.
This, ultimately, created a giant split within Brandon that he's never been able to come to terms with. He's capable of extreme violence when it has to happen and can shut it out of his mind, pretend it never happened again if he needs to. But, he's also capable of unwavering loyalty and the deep love that comes with it. Prison changed his priorities for him when he no longer had his father to justify his violent past. Since he's been out, he's been lost, trying to figure out who Brandon Rivers even is without Ronnie pulling the puppet strings.
It shouldn't have been a surprise to him when he latched onto Athena. She was a bitch, yes. She could be extremely cold to him. But he was fed, given clothes, given a place to stay in the nicest home Brandon had ever been in. And the night she took a bullet for him was the night the final gear was flipped, and he became every much as loyal to her as he'd been to his father.
Things were more complicated with Athena. She was beautiful, every inch the goddess as her namesake. And she didn't award pats on the head as easily as Ronnie had, something Brandon had to learn and understand about her. Worse, Brandon felt for her a type of love he always thought was a myth, something his father told him "whores" used to trick men.
Not that Brandon even cared if it was a trick. The second she'd told him she'd loved him cemented his loyalty to her. If she told him to jump, he'd ask how high. If she asked him to cut his balls off, he'd ask her if she wanted them on a platter or in a box. She effectively replaced Ronnie as the sole person he wanted to please.
Brandon doesn't really care what other people think. He knows few people understand and most probably see it as some sort of joke. The big Brandon Rivers, with the gang tattoos and the scars and the black ring on his finger, chasing after Athena like a sad little puppy. He prefers that people see it this way and will never correct them. He likes knowing what he believes is the world's biggest (or at least the best) secret.
100 Questions
1. What is your full name? Brandon Thomas Rivers
2. Where and when were you born? June 6, 1982 in Asher City.
3. Who are/were your parents? (Know their names, occupations, personalities, etc.)
My father is Ronnie Rivers, head of our old crew. He runs a mechanic shop in the heart of the city as a cover business. He's a son of a bitch, a liar, a crook, and all around asshole.
I never knew my mother. My father claims she was a crackwhore who abandoned us. I used to believe that, but now I don't know.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like? No siblings
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live in the House of Saints with Asher City's other slaves.
6. What is your occupation? Formerly a mechanic, now a slave.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
I'm 6'1", about 200 pounds, white guy with blonde hair and blue eyes. I used to have longer hair, but cut it once I went to prison. Never give anyone something to hold onto. Now that I'm out, I've kept it short and probably won't grow it back out again. I've got a small beard, just enough to keep me from looking like I'm 20 years old again.
I have five tshirts - three white, two black; three pairs of jeans, a zippered black jacket, six pairs of socks, seven pairs of boxers, and a pair of beaten up, dirty, white tennis shoes. Doesn't make for an exciting wardrobe, but it's all I came to the House with. Given how much I tend to fight around here, the House hasn't seen fit to let me get any more clothes until I start making them money.
I have two large tattoos - a large reaper that takes up most of my back and a graveyard scene on my forearm.
I have a few more scars - a long, vertical scar on my left forearm from a fight a few years ago when someone pulled a knife on me, a scar in my chest that runs under my left nipple from being shanked while still in prison, a jagged scar on my lower back from being shanked in one of my stints in juvenile detention, and a scar on my shoulder from being shot.
8. To which social class do you belong? Lower class.
9. Do you have any allergies, diseases, or other physical weaknesses? No.
10. Are you right- or left-handed? Right handed.
11. What does your voice sound like? Deep and gruff from smoking too much.
12. What words and/or phrases do you use very frequently? I tend to say "fuck" a lot.
13. What do you have in your pockets? Lint.
14. Do you have any quirks, strange mannerisms, annoying habits, or other defining characteristics? None that think are strange or annoying.
Part 2: Growing Up
15. How would you describe your childhood in general?
My childhood was pretty fucked up, but I was happy back then. I spent most of my time as my father's shadow, following him around constantly. Then, I started muling drugs for him, though he didn't tell me what it was I was doing. I thought I was just carrying balloons to people to blow up later.
I didn't have many friends outside of school. All the parents of my school friends knew who my dad was and didn't want their kids to be anywhere near his house. Can't say I blame them now.
16. What is your earliest memory?
Sitting in a swivel chair and watching as my dad changed the oil in his truck.
17. How much schooling have you had?
I dropped out of high school as soon as I turned 16 and still haven't gotten my GED. Once I got into middle school, I tended to skip way more than I ever went.
18. Did you enjoy school?
No. The only subject I ever found useful was math. Everything else is a waste of time.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
From my father and the members of his crew. I also read auto manuals constantly when I started getting into rebuilding cars.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
I completely idolized my father until I was 24 years old. I wanted to be just like, wanted to run his business and make him proud. It's a shame he didn't love me, because I was a damn good son.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I got along well with my dad to the point that I chose to ignore the times he purposefully hurt me or tried to. I don't have any other family.
22. As a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A mechanic. I found out I was pretty good at it too. I had no interest in the muling/selling business, even with all the money.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I loved to sit and watch my dad's guys work. I had a few matchbox cars, but my favorite was a metal blue one with a black stripe on the hood. I loved to "race" it around the floor of my dad's office, pretending it was me driving it.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was (and still am) very hyper. I had a lot of excessive energy and would try to burn it off as much as possible. I wasn't actually a bad kid; I rarely got in trouble with my teachers and always had As in math. It wasn't until I got into middle school that I started getting into trouble.
25. As a child, were you popular? Who were your friends, and what were they like?
I wasn't very popular. I had some friends in school and always got picked to play on teams, but the parents of my friends constantly told my friends to stay away from me because of my father.
26. When and with whom was your first kiss?
My first kiss was in sixth grade while on a field trip to one of the museums in town. We were both bored and were sulking near the giant T-rex. She asked if I wanted to kiss her and I said sure. I think her name was Tori, but I can't remember.
27. Are you a virgin? If not, when and with whom did you lose your virginity?
No, I lost my virginity when I was fifteen to a girl in the backseat of one of my father's customer's cars that'd been left at the shop over night. I definitely remember her name - Dani. She mostly liked me because her parents hated me.
28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.
I think it should be pretty clear how my past has influenced me in becoming a slave...
Part 3: Past Influences
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Serving my six-year stint in prison. Helped me see shit clearly for once.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
My father.
31. What do you consider your greatest achievement?
When I completely restored a '65 Mustang. I loved that car, but had to sell it off to pay for lawyers and court fees.
32. What is your greatest regret?
Selling that '65 Mustang.
33. What is the most evil thing you have ever done?
I've killed several people, something I know is unforgivable.

I have a criminal record a mile long.

When I was being shanked in juvi. I thought I was definitely going to die.
36. What is the most embarrassing thing ever to happen to you?

Pessimist - why would anything good happen?

Dying before I can get my revenge.
42. What are your religious views?
I believe in God but I know me and him ain't exactly friends. I've already accepted there's no hope for me.
43. What are your political views?
I don't have any. All politicians are scum no matter they label themselves. People who have strong political views are absolute morons.
44. What are your views on sex?
It feels good and if people had more of it there wouldn't be so much violence in the world.
45. Are you able to kill? Under what circumstances do you find killing to be acceptable or unacceptable?
Yes and I've done it before. The only line I have are killing women and children; I won't do that. But anyone else is fair game, even if they're innocent. I don't kill for fun, but if they gotta go, they gotta go.
46. In your opinion, what is the most evil thing any human being could do?
Hurt a child in any way - emotionally, physically, or sexually.
47. Do you believe in the existence of soul mates and/or true love?

Right now? No one. I have shit to do and I can't die yet.

I used to keep my distance and be a bit rude, but now at the House I've tried to be a little nicer, if for no other reason than to keep me out of trouble. The more I get to know a person, the better I treat them if I like them.
54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
Celia is my best friend in the House, so... her, I guess.
55. Who is the person you respect the most, and why?
I really don't have any respect for anyone.

I have a few acquaintances at the House. Celia is probably my best friend. She's a sweet girl, too caring for her own good, but a sweet girl.

No, but it seems as though I do have a Mistress now.

Brandon needs to get over his silly revenge thing and accept his life as a slave, get bought, and try to live the rest of his life as low key as possible.
