I'm thinking gatorade and vodka?
I finally went to the grocery store. Looks a little better than apocalyptic, but still no bread. Most of the soup, all of the ramen, meats, cheeses, eggs, dairy, all of it has also been basically wiped off the shelves.
But I can say I have groceries, so I can have a hot meal tonight and have some actual food for breakfast and lunch tomorrow.
My mom only just got power this afternoon.
It's hot and terrible and everyone is stressed out. Everyone just wants to get back to their lives, but even five days after the storm we still have debris everywhere.
Sterling and I made it out of my apartment! Granted, I was heading south.
We've got a mandatory curphew from 1500 today to 1500 tomorrow. We're expected to lose power this afternoon. Crossing my fingers this doesn't go belly up.
If you're in Florida, please stay safe.
Sometimes I think I'm funny
Survived.
Now I just have to worry about going to work tomorrow. The office is open unless you can't come in because you're stuck in other states, you don't have power, your way is flooded or blocked by trees, or because schools will be out and you have babysitting issues.
Glad I won't have to use any more vacation time, but fuck. It hasn't been a vacation. I'm tired. I still have to drive back home with downed traffic lights and unpack my bags and supplies. I have to throw out everything in my fridge and take out my trash so my apartment doesn't smell. I spent the last few days in a panic of preparation, then lived through the actual storm. I'm not ready to go back to work.
C: I think the chairs are gone, what do you think? Me: Um. Yeah, they're gone. Those chairs are gone.
A little wobbly, but I finished this one in the dark.
