Bubba was on the couch, his head resting against a pillow as he read a book. His tail hanged from the couch as it slowly swayed from side to side. He had a small smile on his face, seeming to like the book he was reading. Everyone else was sleeping in their rooms, as it was late at night. The only sounds in the living room were the occasional flicks of Bubba flipping to the next page.
Meanwhile, Funny was in her room, twisting and turning in her bed, unable to fall asleep. She groaned quietly, looking at the ceiling with a frustrated expression. After minutes...that seemed like hours, she sat up, thinking "Maybe all I need is a warm cup of milk! That always makes me sleepy!". Funny got out of bed, silently walking out of her bedroom and into the hallway, her nightgown flowing a bit from her quick pace. She paused seeing Bubba, and raised an eyebrow. "..huh. I didn't know someone else was up."
Bubba blinked, sitting up as he looked at the fox. "Oh! Hello, Funny. Nice to see you. May I ask why you're awake?"
"Couldn't sleep.", Funny responded, scratching the back of her head. "Though, I should be asking you the same question." She tilted her head. "Oh, well, you know me...my nose-- or, er..trunk-- is always stuck in a book. I guess I just forgot to put it down.." Funny smiled, and walked over to Bubba, sitting onto the couch next to him. "That's kind of believable, considering how much of a nerd you are!', she teased jokingly, playfully nudging him light-heartedly. Bubba chuckled. "Ohoho, you do not wanna go down that road!"
"Oh, I think I do!~"
"..would you like to take that back?", Bubba asked, smirking. "..no, why?", Funny questioned, tilting her head with a curious expression. Bubba grinned, and placed his hoof (hand? Idk) on her side, his eyes getting a mischievous glint in them. "Because, well..why don't you see for youself?~"
Before Funny could respond, Bubba began to gently, yet rapidly, tickle her sides. This made Funny jump, before bursting into bubbly giggles as she covered her mouth. Bubba's ears perked up, and he chuckled. "Wow, giggling already? I'm barely even doing anything!~" Funny squirmed a bit, her tail starting to wag a bit. "T-Thahat's nohot myhy fahahault!!"
Bubba laughed softly. "Yeah, but you look adorable while doing it!~" He teased, started to squeeze Funny's sides, which drew a squeak out of her every time. Bubba started to laugh, thinking this was hilarious, in a good way. "PFF-- ohoh my god! Yohou sound like a dang squeaky tohoy!"
"S-Shuhut uhup!!" Funny covered her face, which was now completely flushed at this point.
"Awh, but you're too cute!~", Bubba chirped, going to poke and prod at his friend's ribs. "One..two..three.."
"GAHA-- BUHUBBA!! NAHAT THEHERE!" Funny's tail wagged violently as she squirmed vigorously. This earned another laugh from Bubba. "Heh, so this spot is that bad, huh? Good to know!~" Bubba began to rake in between Funny's ribcage, with a teasing look as he 'counted' her ribs.
"NOOO!! BUHUBBA, IHI-- STAHAHAP!! IHA CAHAH-- NOHOHO!!" Funny could barely form a sentence from her laughter, kicking her legs as her face was deep red. Bubba had continued, counting veryyyy slowly, just to make Funny lose her mind. "NAHAHA-- BUHUBBA, CUHUHUT IHIT OHOHOUT!! IHI-- CAHAN'T TAHAKE IHIHIT!!" Funny's laughter started to get wheezy, which earned a chuckle from Bubba as he slowed the tickles to a stop.
"So, did you enjoy that, ya silly fox?~", Bubba asked teasingly, as Funny caught her breath. "Ihi-- j-just shuhut it..", she responded, a grin still on her face. Bubba shrugged with a playful eyeroll. As he was about to grab his book again, he found himself getting tightly hugged by Funny, the fox refusing to let go. Bubba giggled and shook his head, laying down.
Soon enough, the 2 friends' 'sleeping problems' were gone, both of them sound asleep.
