Today we got Furriosa a harness and took her for a walk.
She wasn't sure about having clothes on and there were a couple of instances where she got brought up short by the lead (often in midair) but it generally went well.
Progress! Now we just need to get Furriosa and Spice not hissing...
Furriosa has been sent to Horny Jail (locked in the bathroom) because she's been leaving cards in phone boxes (spraying on everything) and making unwanted advances towards Mr Hatter, who is auditioning for the role of feline Bertie Wooster.
At least she's stopped hissing at the other two, but she is making a hell of a racket when crouching down with her arse in the air doesn't get the desired response.
"Did I give you permission to stop petting me, monkey?"
An update on the surprise addition to our family:
Furriosa spent a few days with a friend while we were off at my work Xmas party, the other two stayed home and next door popped in and fed them.
Now we're back she has claimed the middle level of the cat tree next to the sofa and spends most of her time either there or on top of the boxes of books under the coffee table, but sometimes has a bit of a look around and will stay on the sofa a while for some fuss.
She still hisses and growls at the other two, but less than she did initially, and Spice has pretty much stopped responding, she just walks away. Hatter still replied but then runs away and sits in a cardboard box nearby which presumably in his mind is a fortress.
Both Spice and Hatter will now spend some time on the sofa with us while Furriosa is on the cat tree, but leave if she hisses. Slow progress but it's still progress.
