The Snake Queen is a half-woman half-animal (snake) villain in an old Chinese animation TV series called 'Calabash Brothers', which is made by Shanghai Animation Film Studio in 1986. The story is basically about seven heroes (Calabash Brothers) who has different superpowers saving an old farmer and a village from two monsters (the Snake Queen and Scorpion King). As its shown from the image, the Snake Queen has a slim and kinda sexy body, a really pointed face plus very pale skin, which is related to cold-blooded animals. She can literally change shape into snake since she is a monster transformed from a real snake. She also has a magic wand thing that can control cold wind and freeze people. And as it related to some ancient fairytales, she's afraid of fire and burnt to death at the end. *spoiler* As for her character, I believe the Snake Queen is the only "female" character in the whole series, and her high pitch voice and evil laughter stood out from all the other characters. Her role, of course, is a snaky monster that is really cunning, she uses different strategies to deal with the brothers who has different superpower, and sometimes seduces them with her body figure. There is a Scorpion King in this series as well, who is the husband of the Queen (obviously), they lives in a cave and have an army made of centipedes, rats, locusts etc. The villains other than the Queen are all a little bit dumb, they are good at using force and violence facing the heroes, but no strategies. It's interesting that the villains are all considered pests in the agricultural world. The old farmer character grows real calabashes into the Calabash Brothers to beat the pests which is really agrarian society related. One last thing about the snakelike-woman body figure. NuWa, the goddess in ancient Chinese mythology who creating mankind and repairing the pillar of the sky, is also known in some folk illustrations have a female body on top and a snake body as the other half. It turns out that in ancient Chinese culture, there is a saying that the dragon on the ground (can't fly maybe?) is the snake. And it is considered as mother goddess as well, it fosters everything and buries everything, that's sounds really powerful and controlling to me.
