The Future Corps of EPCOT

More thrifted photos! Here's these cool shots of the Future Corps performing:

via Wikipedia: "Future Corps first performed on December 1, 1982 and began an almost 18-year run as a full-time atmosphere group (7 shows per day, 5 days per week) until May 2000..."

Unfortunately I don't know when these were taken as I didn't take them and they didn't arrive to me dated or with other dated ephemera.

If you'd like to see and hear them in action, I found a youtube channel with a bunch of archived videos of them performing! I think they are so cool!

Big thank you to Shishagumi who helped me identify this band, as I hadn't heard of or seen it before! As a lost media extraordinaire, they've been helping me as I have been researching & digitizing and I am so grateful for their tolerance of my silly questions and comments lol!

In celebration of the one-year anniversary of the Off/Page Project, check out director José Vadi in conversation with Julia B. So, as best I can tell, there's this group called Future Corps, which essentially is just a small marching group that plays jazz standards. And they're awesome, even though this is just a note-by-note arrangement of Maynard Ferguson's Birdland, give or take a bass drum solo. ANYWAYS, Birdland, by Future corps
