“Think I could get the bag you’re… kind of standing on?”
“Ugh, I am so bored already. Why did Summer have to end?”
Had Lily known of this sooner, she would’ve worked all summer producing a plan to welcome the transfer students, she would’ve given everyone instructions; much better instructions than just the simple protocol they were given just a little while before dinner was over. Fifth year Prefects were designated to take First years to their common rooms and dorms, while Seventh year prefects were given the task to welcome the new students and show them around. Lily felt a little guilty about all that and she was now coming up with something to make the welcome a lot warmer.
Something told her not all of the transfer students were too happy about the sudden ch ange in their lives. Working as she was, she heard footsteps approaching her table in the Library. “Yes?”
after being on the train all day, and then unable to slip away from the great hall during dinner, dorcas was restless and irritable and craving a cigarette, and the new influx of foreign students didn’t help. she had finally managed to find a deserted courtyard and had just taken a drag from her cigarette when she heard footsteps behind her. her eyes fluttered shut and she let out a thin column of smoke. “ --- jesus h. CHRIST, ” she muttered, an expletive she’d picked up solely because of how much it offended her parents. “ --- can’t a girl have two minutes of peace to have a smoke? ”
“Entschuldigen Sie mich, I think you dropped this.” Theo informed picking up the item and handing it to the other.
“You think with all the new transfer students there will be more additions to the Magical Theory club? It is disappointingly barren.”
