Broadway can't make it through an episode clothed and not rip it up AHAHAH. LOVE this. He's so reactive, and I adore that so much. Brooklyn and Lexington clearly have expressions of concern, but Broadway is biting his hat apart. lolol I love him

It's just so lovely to see them enjoying a night out! Having some food, socializing, fitting right in. I realized too that I didn't think much about their costumes, and so here's where I must.
Broadway's is particularly interesting because it's SO CLOSE to his detective noir outfit, but also absolutely is not!
With the white collar shirt underneath and tie, he goes from looking like a detective in a noir movie to a business man to people who are me. And it's super interesting to me that he went from something much more classically a caricature to dress up into just... normal average Joes. He just did the detective thing, and while I don't think he's had enough of it, it's time for his other dream- to simply fit in and be able to make a home and community among others. No so obvious barriers from expanding his community by feature of what he is. It's actually a little sad but absolutely perfectly right and correct.
Lexington's is kind of funny to me. Sure he can't fly, but he can soar through the air. But he doesn't just want something like flying, he wants the prestige and honor and recognition for his smarts. God I love Lexington in a cravat haha.
Brooklyn really, I feel, gets the spirit of Halloween the most, but it's no less like him. It's amusing to me that I feel like culturally, 'pirate' and 'biker gang guy' have a very similar space. But he tried the biker gang,a and it went poorly. But it still feels so similar and in that vein. He still wants to be part of a crew, specifically a fighter crew with leaders and camaraderie. Very cute and very appropriate to people who are me for the future Second.
The trio watching Goliath and Elisa dance and having this unbridled moment of joy. LOVE IT! THEY DESERVE SUCH A GOOD TIME!! <3<3<3
Hahaha there's already hardly anything left of his trench coat, but he's done being detective, so he no longer needs the costume. Amazing character beat. He didn't need the trench coat to be whoever it was he wanted to be; it was just something to try on. But at the end of the day, he's just himself.
Also Dracon totally has a concussion at Least.
AHAHAHA I LOVE Broadway just slapping Dracon's head around like a dolls with just one finger. 'You are nothing' he seemed to say. Fantastic. Great animation choice!
As soon as they make their "landing," Dracon runs off to presumably try to find the fallen jewels. But he runs into an alley and lets Broadway relive his favorite part of his most recent detective noire movie obsession shot for shot. Haha (I'm too lazy just now to do a comparison but trust me).
And like, on the one hand, it sort of reminds one of why Elisa was hesitant to have him on in the first place. It gives the feeling that he never really grasped the stakes of the situation. But he ended up in a pretty tight spot himself, and he truly was worried about Elisa. While that all might be Part of it to a certain extent, I think mainly that Broadway seizes joy where he can find it. And also, he's living the model set out for him, which does mean he has more to learn about taking such models from movies, but yeah. This is showing how he cares.
Also Dracon totally has a concussion now XD
"WE did it." "I figured out." I LOVE this. And look at how proud of him she is. And though really, there was nothing more for her to do just then, she's showing him and putting her trust in him to take care of her other partner. And she believes he understands what that means. It IS very important to her that Matt is okay, and she puts that in Broadway's hands. Love!
I forgot he's still learning to read! I LOVE that he's still learning to read! What's more, I love that they're reminding us in this moment that he is not very literate. But he's going to solve this riddle, because his ability to read does not equate to his intelligence. Love that little inclusion! He so often comes off as the big oaf, and c'mon. He really can be sometimes! But that doesn't mean he can't think or be smart. And then that moment when he gets it! When he remembers looking through a window to watch over Elisa while standing on a gargoyle falcon. Love it!
