Verona waits with bated breath as the defence of Osborne Montague commenced today. Public opinion has swayed heavily against former Head of the Montague family as the trial has progressed. While the evidence is damning, it is also noted that there were no witnesses to the murder itself. The first witness called to the stand in defence of Osborne Montague is Mr. Ian York. A Dominant originally from the City of London, Ian York has been a resident of the City of Verona for twelve years. His employment was unclear and no amount of questioning by the Prosecution received more than his statement that he works on patented products for Montague labs. With advanced degrees in biochemistry, many have speculated as to the nature of Mr. York’s work.
Ian York gave a clear picture of Osborne Montague as a strong Head of the family who made clear and rational decisions. The prosecution has led evidence to the contrary, painting the Dominant on trial as temperamental, out of control and arbitrary, who pushes boundaries and allows his dominance to bully the submissives in his life. Ian York relayed a Dominant in clear authority and control at all times.
Evidence by Ian York was marred by repeated objections by Spencer Montague as the Prosecution tried to dig further into Montague operations. Justice Capulet had to remind Mr. Troisi of his obligation to refrain from fishing expeditions. Mr. Troisi’s goal seemed to be to anger the Dominant witness. He was not successful and the witness was excused. Mr. Ian York was also advised to remain in the City of Verona until the conclusion of the trial.
