Hello everynyan…. My insurance just got cancelled and I have hella appointments for work and appointments to start testosterone next month. I hate begging especially with the climate rn but my commissions are open. I’m low key freaking out about this because I’ll lose my job if I can’t get certain tests done and then I won’t be able to pay any bills that I have. Anything helps. When I talk about brother bear and I say white people don’t get it and talking about it to white people is like talking to a wall they always say something like “I’m white and it’s my favorite movie” you don’t understand seeing yourself in a movie for the first time. It having cultural importance to a group that was thought long gone. I’m white, but that’s from colonization. I grew up with the other native kids in my community, fishing and playing with worry dolls. Talking about tribal names sharing stories. My blood quantum prevents me from being enrolled in either of my tribes but I’ve experienced the culture my whole life. Nobody understands brother bear like WE do. The movie was a sense of community for me. Hashtag dying on this hill. Idk man finding yourself in media when all there was at the time was Pocahontas was refreshing and positive. Even if Kenai was a bear the whole damn movie.

It really is like talking to a wall, girl you don’t get it.
