High spirits! From What’s on TV 7-13 August 2021 edition. (Spoilers ahead for Ghosts S3.)

A documentary crew cause chaos in Ghosts as the spooky comedy returns...

Trouble is brewing as TV’s most loveable spectres return for more hilarious hauntings in a third series of comedy Ghosts.

Alison and Mike Cooper, the owners of Button House, are still on a quest to turn the rundown stately home into a going concern, while their long-dead housemates continue to be a hindrance! As the new six-part run begins, the Coopers are preparing to open a B&B in the gatehouse, and are allowing a historical documentary crew to film in the house.

The resident ghosts, who only Alison can see, are agog at the presence of TV cameras, while Mike (Kiell Smith-Bynoe) is keen to promote Button House, so he urges a nervous Alison to be interviewed on camera about her family connections to the building.

‘There’s always a question over Alison’s family and we don’t know much about her parents, but we find out more,’ reveals Charlotte Ritchie, who plays Alison.

As the documentary reveals a famous plot took place at Button House in the Elizabethan era, it’s time for Tudor nobleman Headless Humphrey (Laurence Rickard) to finally open up about how he met his grisly end...

‘There’s a lot more traditional spooky stuff in this series. But I just want to know all their backstories!’ says Charlotte. ‘Alison is so protective of the ghosts, but for Mike, they take his wife away from him a lot and mess up his life!’

Nothing was announced at the end of series three on BBC One, so will Ghosts continue? All Willbond can say is, "Interesting conversations are happening… I’m going to leave it there!"

that article teasing more of pat’s flaws in s3 like YES we love to see it!!! let him go ape shit, let him say fuck, pat corruption arc, etc etc etc!!! like yeah he’s human and they made him SO well-rounded in s2 - standing up for himself in lots of different episodes, being less complacent, taking charge more. it made him so fun and much more compelling and i can’t wait to see what sort of flaws are explored god

ben said they were on track to go into production early next year. kiell just confirmed on bbc radio 2 that they’re due to film in feb 2021 (link in source) so will tom finally get his single take? only time will tell 🙏
