Summary: amidst their travels, aaron and gabriel find an abandoned church. overgrown and barricaded, they decide to spend the night there, grateful for the respite from their food run. when aaron notes the altar, however, along with the evening they have to kill, he figures it’s the perfect time for a little bit of sacrilege.
(or - gabriel’s got a lot of religious guilt to face. what better way to do it than in a House of the Lord?)
More people should read Gabriel/Aaron actually. And more people should write Gabriel/Aaron and comment on Gabriel/Aaron and love Gabriel/Aaron. It's so good

E, 6k words
Excerpt:
“I’ve got you,” Aaron said, the words so soothing, Gabriel almost couldn’t bear it. His entire body was relaxing, despite the deep swooping pleasure Aaron was eliciting inside of him.
His eyes slipped closed and he turned his head to the side, coasting on the feeling, as if riding a wave. He couldn’t escape the thought that without Aaron’s grounding presence, it was something he could have gotten lost in, something that could have pulled him under and turned from freeing and into unbridled terror. When Gabriel opened his eyes, he found himself staring into the face of a statue barely four feet away. Her head was tilted to the side, hands open in supplication, so similar to the statue they had in his own Church. He could almost see this Mary draped in flowers for the May Crowning, something he had done every year. He had always held a deep admiration for her unshaking faithfulness to the path God laid out for her. Even more so in the wake of his own faltering.
Her eyes were the softest blue, the paint chipped slightly in the corner of her eye. She stared at him and he felt seen in ways no mortal was capable of, her gaze steady and solemn. Her eyes stared into his soul, saw the imperfect child of God that he was and looked at him with love and overwhelming patience. There were tears prickling at the corners of his eyes. It was the kind of patience he’d only felt under the eyes of one other person, and Gabriel turned to him then, trading one set of blues for another as he met Aaron’s eyes.
“Are you with me?” Aaron asked. His voice was calm and gentle, and it smoothed out the small ripples of anxiety that had been rippling out from Gabriel’s core.
“How long,” Gabriel asked, tentatively, pausing to wet lips he hadn’t realised had become dry. He didn’t know how long he’d been lost, staring into the eyes of Mary, but Aaron had stood still through it all.
Conviction E, 9k Summary: A growing tension between Aaron and Gabriel finally reaches a head and changes things in ways Gabriel may not quite be ready for.
Aaron made a small sound of agreement, a rumbling noise that seemed to reverberate out of him and into the air. His fingers were already working at the straps holding his prosthesis in place. “I swear this thing gets heavier every day.” Gabriel finished chewing and paused in contemplation. “Perhaps it’s more than just the arm weighing you down.” He could feel Aaron’s eyes on him, though through the dim, flickering light, neither of them could see the other well. “Busy as we find ourselves, we sometimes don’t notice the burdens we carry until the ache becomes too much to bear.” “This is an occupational hazard for you,” Aaron replied.
Morning Light G, 2.3k Summary: A slice of life ficlet of this small family spending the morning together
Beside him, Gabriel woke with a start, body curling instinctively, searching for his machete. Aaron reached out, his hand darting from Coco’s shoulder and towards Gabriel. His palm landed on Gabriel’s chest, and he pressed firmly against him. Aaron could feel the thundering of Gabriel’s heart under his palm, but he could feel his breathing start to even out too. “Not a walker,” Aaron said, in caution, his voice rough from disuse. He watched Gabriel blink the sleep from his eyes, his mind catching up with the sight before him. “I can see that,” Gabriel said, with a small smile. He grunted as Coco clambered over Aaron to get to him, her bony limbs digging into the both of them as Gabriel collapsed back against the mattress. “A walker would have stopped to eat you first.” “And given you a few more blessed minutes to sleep,” Aaron agreed, not even fighting back the smile of his own.
