While today wasn’t the worst day of Bridge’s life, it was certainly up there in the ranks. It was going to mark a miserable new start to chapter two of being confined and experimented on. She was back to being property of Talon, and nothing more.
The beast was certainly making her distaste over the situation known. She was screaming with rage at anyone who got close, pacing about, and practically snarling and growling and snapping. She felt like a cornered tiger or lion in a circus, and so she was going to damn well act like one. The whole situation was giving her anxiety that was off the charts, her breathing laboured. She hated everything, from the sterile white of everything to the small space to the barrenness of the enclosure she was in. It was empty, void of anything, just a bright white concrete pen with a wall of bars separating her from those who wanted to view her.
Even the smallest things, like the clothes she was wearing, were ramping up her anxiety. She was so stressed she felt like her heart was going to explode. The giant was in nothing but a new, fresh pair of white shorts and a white shirt, clothes to match the sterile plainness of her current environment. It felt so strange to be in new clothes after all this time. She was familiar with her old clothes, and right now she would prefer their comfortable worn feel and musk. These clothes were just a reminder of her pitiful situation - perhaps she would have appreciated the change if it hadn’t been against her will, so she didn’t feel resentful towards the new items. But it had indeed been against her wishes, and so she wanted nothing more than to rip the fabric off and shred it with her claws. Hell, she was so upset she wanted to rip off her own skin, rake her claws against it and bite her fingers. Anything to distract herself from everything. Everything was adding up, every little and every big thing, and it was driving her absolutely mad, her body wracked with shivers, skin sweaty and clammy.
She wished she could just hide somehow, or flee, she just wanted to get away. Her eyes darted about frantically as she whined through her nose. She wanted trees and sky and grass and dirt, not… not this. Anything but this. The giant couldn’t take it anymore and she unfurled her wings and flapped them at a rapid rate with distress, crying out with frustration for a good few minutes. When she stopped her inhuman howling to catch her breath, she heard something. Someone walking down the corridor to where she was being held.
She recognized the sound. Her hearing was good, and she could pick up on the slightest differences in sound. She recognized the signature click of the specific type of shoes, she recognized the gait. And it made her heart sink.
Her bare feet scrabbled and slid against the floor as she tried to burrow into a corner of her new enclosure, claws audibly scratching against the floor frantically. She sounded and looked like some kind of trapped animal, the whites of her eyes wide and bulging and her head held high like she was a spooked horse. All she could do was wait in anticipation of her old foe, curling in on herself and trying to look small.
