This city was . . . . Different. Different in so many ways, the way people blended in together, got along- talked without a fear. She wasn’t sure how to feel about it, it’s as if she was being judged to let all her past prejudices go- to let all her pain go, everything she fought for.
It made her FURIOUS and-
She’s distracted for a moment, there’s a kid sitting somewhere a kid definitely shouldn’t be- this high up in this ridiculous tower, alone in this darkness. She approaches quietly not intending to alert the other to her presence.
“ . . . Birds.”
Followed by a short sigh. Well if he didn’t know she was there he would know. Sure enough there were a couple of dark feathered birds, all sitting on a roof just a little ways away- fighting over various food scraps they had picked up. Their caws were abundant.
Again she glances at the child, he seemed human but . . .
“Isn’t it a little dangerous for you to be sitting there. Kid.”
