For anyone who want to, my wife just finished working with a wonderful team of game Devs for PIG Squad's Summer Slow Jam! It's a lovely little musical puzzle game with ice skating, and it's free! Play here!

Had to share this @weheartit
A while back I attended a Game Jam, I operated as a floater that time. A floater is essentially a type of person at these game Jams that are not restricted to a single group, a single team. they basically run around helping out other people with there game projects. developing assets ... programming stuff ... doing audio ... etc.
It may seem a little depressing not having a specific team at these places, but after doing a few Jams I think I do better as a floater than being restricted to a specific team. It's better for networking, I can sort of network with more people that way, I can participate and contribute to multiple projects which increases my chances of exposure.
Many game Jam projects don't reach completion, so if your team fails to reach completion and doesn't get posted or hosted or anything then ... well ...
It's also difficult and stressful trying to work on multiple projects simultaneously. I'm relatively flexible, I've studied a broad range of subjects so I can cover a broad range of tasks. if your working as a floater, you sort of end up going to more in demand roles and more in demand tasks, if your working with a team it can be like 'this team doesn't really need me' or it could be like ... they're looking for a very specific thing or style and you don't really fit the niche they're looking for.
I'm not certain how to put it.

Well anyways the Game Jam I attended before, I was a floater. Many people were asking for 3d assets and to do character rigging things like that. So this one group wanted to get some sort of a quadrupeds character rigged up, they told me that they managed to figure out how to get their thing to work and that it would be okay if I focused on other teams ... they made something like this ...
This is ... uh ... well needless to say it has issues, it could use some work. I can't be too hard on them though, sounds like they were a bunch of programmers and this was the first time they rigged anything. The first time I rigged anything it kinda looked like this too. Honestly considering it's their first time rigging something I think it's good. they figured out this much on their own. I wish that I could show their game project however they weren't able to complete it their game had technical issues. :(
This is what I did with it, I did with it ...
I did an eating animation too. I was going to do a sleeping animation but then they told me not to bother because of their technical issues they probably werent going to complete it for the JAM
Next time I do a Game Jam I gotta be certain to go as a floater, get contact info and links to the final game.
Gam Jam
Alrighty then. Here's my feels on what's goin down with Gamzee. Feel free to agree or disagree, but politely. =3 Be aware, I have no idea what I'm doing or how talking to people on Tumblr works.
Anyway, I just kinda wanted to spill my thoughts about Gam.
In the beginning he was the kind of person who took the insults and hate of others with a smile, even tried to change himself to make his friends happy. But everyone has their limit and once he hit it he hit it hard, he snapped and realized 'hey, it's nice being on the other side of this' dishing out the hate instead of receiving it. Only instead of insults that may or may not be halfhearted like the ones his friends used towards him, he lashes out physically. And then, after a while, I think he probably came down. While he was alone he probably realized what he'd done and what was wrong with it, but he didn't care any more. He'd had a taste of the other life, and I think, being the type of character he is, he probably thought "well, they hated me before. Might as well give them a reason to now." And he became the villain, but sort of, I don't know, lost himself in it.
It's like he's manic. He can only feel the extreme of whatever level he's on. When he's calm he'll take all your shit, when he's upset he's psychotic.
And with Terezi, he probably thought back to the times she goaded or prodded him because hey! Maybe she was looking for a black rom relationship with him before, it's just that in the state he is now there's no way that can be healthy and I sincerely hope she can get out of this alive because I like her too. I think Gam is the kind of person who can't have any kind of black rom, sober or sopper because Sober he's abusive and on sopper he can't muster up those feelings.
But these are just my ideas and thoughts. I might be super duper way off. All I do know is that I hope both Gam and Rezi can come out of this okay and that people will stop fighting. XD It's a web comic, no need to loose your heads.
Gam Jam?
I want to explain my Gam feels to someone I know I won't be buggin XP Like, it's for def not Gam hate, nor is it justification of his actions, just my thoughts on what's going on and why. Anyone up for a Gam jam?
