They say when you’re in shock, or something terrible happens, time slows down around you. The brain processes things differently, allowing you to do so much more at a time. Or maybe it was just to draw out the pain…. Of course he was awake to hear the light wrap at the woodwork, opening it to see Caitlin, only to have her collapse into him, small frame limp against her own. "Cait?!" he heard himself say, though almost didn't recognize his voice, panic stricken. "Cait? Caitlin what is it?"
What had happened? She wasn't sure. The events of the last hour or so was a blur. All she knew is that she was exhausted, and that her body ached. She was by Grimsley's room, she didn't want to be alone.
Caitlin tried to stand, but as soon as she saw the man before her her knees gave out. Caitlin collapsed into him, glad he had caught her. Grismley spoke, Caitlin didn' bother to try and make most of it out.
So she didn't respond. She just gripped his shirt with shaking hands.'
