Uhhh, depends on what you mean by “mission-based.” Does that mean completing objectives rather than just “get to the end of the level”?
Not quite, since that would make Doom a mission-based shooter. Mission-based shooters have a variety of different things you have to do, like take a picture of some enemy contraption or rescue prisoners or something.
