Magic: the Gathering - Black Lotus Theft

The owner of Finch and Sparrow Games in Signal Hill near Long Beach is asking the public for help in finding a man they say stole a coveted card worth more than $40,000.

On Friday, January 7, 2022 at shortly after 6:30 p.m. a man came in and asked to see the Beta: Black Lotus card and subsequently then left the store with the card, and jumped into a getaway car that was waiting down the street. This Black Lotus is beta, and double signed by Garfield and Rush.

Gaming Store - The Freaky Wizard

Happy Tuesday MTG peeps.

Since 2008, MTG Realm has put on about 7,330 posts to Tumblr and 2,500 articles on our old Blogger. Over the years, one thing has remained important to us - the gaming store in the local community and we have quite a few posts to prove that.

A relatively new gaming store / cool cafe hang-out in our city had opened up around the corner from our usual stomp at OMG! Games on the North end of town near the College. Here is a Google local guide I have provided and encourage everyone to drop on over.

Visit September, 2021 to the Freaky Wizard. Wonderfully appointed / decorated and the defacto capitol of pop culture in Barrie. Cafe has a lovely selection of hot & cold drinks, treats and desserts. Great play area up front as well as a large party room. Excellent selection of games, action figures, vintage toys and much more. Something for every fan of Harry Potter, Star Wars, LotR and other pop culture fans. Reasonable prices. Great owners.

Magic: the Gathering - Vehicle IRL

Vehicle is an artifact type introduced in Kaladesh.  Artifacts with this subtype have the crew keyword, which allows them to temporarily become artifact creatures. A senior citizen, excited about this new subtype and completely misinterpreting the game mechanic, attended this game store, a tragic hilarity ensues.  No serious injuries.

Pastimes, Niles, Illinois, 12 October, 2017 - A 73-year-old driver of a black Dodge Caravan struck a light-colored Hyundai minivan driven by ANOTHER 73-year-old man in the shopping center parking lot near Walmart at Golf Road and Milwaukee Avenue.  After the driver of the black van struck the Hyundai, he apparently became flustered and drove through two large plate glass windows in the gaming store, also breaking through a short brick wall beneath the windows.
