MK Home is a project designed by Ganna Design. “Remove the exhaustions and the defenses accumulated in daytime, the house owners change their mood at the moment they stay the independent two-door entrance space. According to the rectangle layout, the designers plan public space and private bedrooms from the entrance to the inner house, and make the best use of natural sunlight by adopting large floor-to-ceiling windows.

While stepping into the room, you can see a study room on the left side. The combination of different materials, the clear glass and perforated plate, and the white frames create picturesque enframed scenery. From study room to kitchen, the white perforated plates connect different spaces and serve as a L-shaped main wall. On the white plates the linear arrangement of the titanium coated handles redefines the possible performance on the façade of the interior wall.

Thinking outside of the box, the designers combine the customized gray marble platform with the TV wall. In addition, they also use wood and titanium coated metal to be the legs of the table, showing the beauty of structural balance. The Creamy white wall is the stage of sun and moon on which the light and shadow dance. From the common space to the private rooms, the house owner can enjoy a charming end scene everywhere in the house.”

KC Home is a project designed by Ganna design. The concept of layout in this project is generated from this Chinese character “永”. The arc in the living room is like the last stroke of this word, presenting the dynamic relationship between common areas and private rooms.

Different from the traditional separation wall, the arc in the living room widens the visual perception and natural illumination in the common area. The different colors used in the common area are analogous to different brush letterings that present the beauty of character in Chinese calligraphy. Even the bookcase and the wardrobe design are generated from the 3*3 magic square paper that is used for practice calligraphy. In order to take the storage function and visual beauty in to consideration at the same time, the grid design helps to store and display different books and collections. The frame used on the wardrobe is red for red is always a preferred color that present the joyfulness. Besides, cloudy glass is chosen as the separation between the wardrobe and the bedroom, and the glass can show different lines and colors while clothes in different seasons are hanged in the wardrobe, presenting a hazy beauty link it is in ink painting. Spring is the theme of daughter room. Spring is a beautiful blossom season that can well represent a energetic young girl and so wall and cabinets in the daughter room are decorated with pink and flowers. Photography by Ganna design

Camping@Home is a project designed by Ganna design, covers an area of 105.8 M2 and is located in Mucha, Taipei, Taiwan.

The house owner of this project is a couple. The host of the house is an engineer and the hostess is a lawyer. They have two small children. The original house is too small to accommodate their friends, especially on the weekends, so they need a large enough common area whose style can be generally accepted by most of people.

Located in the suburb of Taipei city, the house of this project has green window view, with plenty of natural light. The quiet and undisturbed environment inspires the designer to design this project.

The greenery outside the window and the antique collection owned by the house owner generate the concept of the overall design. Based on the lighting condition and in accordance with the family’s lifestyle, the layout of the house is redesigned. Bedrooms and bathrooms are put in the back of the house. The larger front area is reserved for the common areas. The partition with a sliding wall separates the common area and the bedrooms. Besides, it is multifunctional: one side faces the bedroom can be used as a wardrobe and the other side faces the living room is a bookcase. Not only does the partition cabinet retains plenty of natural light for inner house, but also creates a coherent moving line between common areas and private areas.

A large dining table anchors the center of this house. Beside the kitchen, a kitchen island is used as a bar, a place to taste tea or a table for reading. In one conversation, the houses owners mention that they like go camping in their leisure time. Therefore, we set up an iron shelf on top of the dining table, so the house owner can hang their oil lamps collection or put some houseplants on it. The iron pieces help to extend the visual feeling, making a fun of tenting. The hostess likes Japanese tea ceremony and flowers, so we choose wooden flooring and veneer to make her home more close to natural.

Bedroom design continues the simple elegance of the public space, with white color motif, and is assisted with classic wooden cabinet space to strengthen its style. The two sets of the bathroom are planned in the middle to make the traffic line more smoothly. On the left side of the restaurant is a washitsu (Japanese style room), which can be used as a guest room. We think comfort is an attitude towards life. Surrounded by green and tranquility, the family enjoys the great comfort every day. Even in this bustling city, they can feel like camping at home.

Yu House is a project designed by Ganna Design. “Close your eyes, stretch your arms, and feel the wind blow. Like the wind, the house owner of this projects is yearning for an unrestrained life, spending much time flying in the sky. But there is always a moment feel tired, miss the taste of home, and want to feel the wind blowing in the hometown.”

“The house is equipped with a broad window, which can help the house owner relieve the homesickness and the stress accumulated while returning home. As for the space design, sliding doors are adopted in order to avoid the sense of oppression brought by the brick wall. In addition, the house owner can change the compartment according to the demands- to enlarge the living room or to separate the master’s room- and feel unrestrained whenever and wherever.

The pendant lamp in the living room is similar to a lady’s hat. The light hat turns softly in the breeze, projecting a graphic shadow pattern on the surrounding walls. Not only the designers but also the house owners hope that whoever will feel comfortable and relax in the house, as standing in the grassland and enjoying the wind brushing his or her cheek.” Photography by Ganna Design
