Fun fact: Snakes actually don't unhinge their jaw to eat. The front part of a snakes lower jaw isn't connect by bone and is instead held together by a stretchy piece of skin. This allows them to open their mouths extremely wide by kind of pulling the two lower jaw bones apart.
