Why are you saying Betty didn't apologize for the cheating when she did? You can have your opinion but I see people spreading this misinformation.

No, she didn’t. I’m sorry, but “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you sooner” does NOT equal “I’m sorry I kissed Archie.” 

You’re free to interpret them as equal. That’s your prerogative. But here’s the thing. When Jughead has his hallucination he hallucinates her *specifically* apologizing for kissing Archie, which she NEVER did. Again “I’m sorry I didn’t tell you” and some half crying ‘I’m sorry’s” are NOT “I’m sorry I kissed Archie.” She apologized for LYING by omission about it... not for doing it. Those words never left her lips.

I have a lot of thoughts about why her not apologizing for actually kissing him makes her sleeping with Archie as an adult and saying trash like “we’ve wanted to do that since high school” EXTRA gross, but I’ll keep those out of this ask. Anyway, again, if you want to conflate them, that’s on you. But I refuse. She owes him an apology for something very specific, and the fact that he hallucinated her SPECIFICALLY apologizing for the kiss says to me that he thinks she owes him an apology for that as well. So please, take YOUR misinformation out of my inbox and go back to vague blogging about me in tags in your corner of the fandom, because I don’t have time for so-called Betty fans who can’t stand to see people critically analyze her without calling it “hate” and “spreading misinformation”

Tabitha is nothing but Jughead’s emotional support human/cook/baby sitter at this point and you’re cheering that on? The only reason Tabitha is the one doing these things is because she doesn’t have any other storyline. All the other characters are busy. 73748 storylines in this show and she has none. The only black woman on the show and you’re turning the fact that she’s cooking, baby sitting and hand holding the white male as some sort of romantic ideal. If she sat around cleaning his house and doing his laundry you’ll would GIF that and call it romantic. 11 points and every single one is about what Tabitha did for Jughead. And now she’s about to do more and that’s not even bringing up the fact that Jughead very obviously still has issues with Betty. When he was horny and high it wasn’t Tabitha he was fantasizing about now was it? But you’re right, she knows him soooo well! Okay, I’m only gonna respond to this because I get to be smug. Because you know what I love about this? Your anon message just proved a very important theory for me exactly right.

So let me explain.

Yesterday when I made my post about why I like Jabitha so much, certain corners of the fandom were very upset that I dared to be critical of Betty and Bughead even though I... really wasn’t and it is not my fault y’all are insecure. You should work on that somewhere that isn’t my inbox.

BUT, that being said, today I decided to post something very positive about Jabitha. About all of their little cute moments. About how I read and interpreted the scenes I saw them in. I made no mention of Betty. No mention of Bughead. I *did* talk about how Jughead needs therapy right now, but also how I think it’s very sweet that he’s being open and honest with her (RIP your point about this all being stuff Tabitha did for him, hate to break it to you, but communication about past relationships and issues he still carries *is* Jughead doing some emotional heavy lifting because he also cares about Tabitha and wants to protect her from his messiness right now... sorry you can’t relate).

But in the end, the post was geared specifically toward Jabitha fans, and made no mention of Betty or Bughead. I tagged my shit, I stayed in my lane, I wasn’t critical at all.

And I did this for two reasons: one, our ship is small, and I wanted to bring positivity to our corner of the fandom. I believe everything I wrote and I know there are other Jabitha shippers out there and we’re just all creating posts for each other at this point.

But two, because I really wanted to see if you all could stay in your lane while I clearly stayed in mine. If you could just scroll on past something that had nothing to do with your ship and not resort to anon pettiness. If you could — for a few seconds — just let people ship what they want without feeling threatened by one half of your ride or die potentially developing a thing for a different character.

Call it an experiment.

And to no one’s surprise, especially not mine, you couldn’t. You couldn’t do any of those things, because the truth of the matter is? You are threatened. Which is pretty silly all told, because like I said yesterday, barring some network and writer room amnesia, Bughead is gonna be endgame and I am fine with that (mostly... I have mixed feelings about it after last night.) But for some reason, you literally cannot stand to see Jughead happy outside of Betty, and so here you are. Still in my inbox. Still pressed. Crying salty tears at me that I’m just using to rim my margarita glass. Thanks, boo.

I’m not even going to bother with all your fake woke nonsense. That you have issues with interracial couples is your problem, not mine. Self-examine, please, and stop being embarrassingly transparent in my inbox.

I do however want to point out that your “he wasn’t fantasizing about her when he was high and horny!!!” nonsense is not the serve you think it is. One, because he tried to fuck Tabitha FOR REAL when he was high out of his mind (or did you miss when he got excited about the idea of bondage play with her), and two because his fantasy of Betty is... what... turned... his trip... bad??? You say being being pro jabitha doesn't make you anti bughead and then 5 secs later reblog a post that's anti Bughead and anti-Betty. Jabitha shippers are really turning into Barchie shippers and that's not a good look. You do realize it is possible to ship Jabitha and not write long posts about how Bughead isn't healthy for each other, toxic, etc. and bringing up all Betty character flaws like Jughead is a saint. By the end of the next hiatus this fandom will lose more fans.

Go on, explain to me how “the West” introduced the idea of colourism to East Asia, during Tang China, considered one of the golden ages of our culture. A powerful east asian empire with its ideas of cultural superiority and a worldview that saw non-Han as barbarians- would be emulating ideas from a Europe that was hardly in any position of global dominance at that time. That makes a lot of sense. Tell me looking light-skinned was only beautiful when the white man told us so. I literally pasted a picture of Tang Chinese and Heian Japanese women with white face make-up showing that they wore those cosmetics because making yourself look paler was considered beautiful already and you’re like “giMME EXAMPLES!!!”

Or where do you think the saying “一白遮三丑” (one white covers three flaws/ugliness) comes from? Out of your ass, perhaps? It isn’t a recent saying, you know. And yes, it’s a saying specifically to do with beauty. 

If you ever read carefully, I said white supremacy of course reinforces it. But this idea of fair skin being beautiful is way older and comes from our own ideas too.

Care to explain this then? I’m pretty sure Europe was too busy dealing with the aftermath of the collapse of the Roman Empire during Tang China and Heian Japan to be conquering East Asia. Hell, the modern construct of whiteness didn’t even exist!

A worldview that makes Western cultures the only cultures with historical agency is enormously unhelpful. Because that’s essentially what you’re saying. That it’s impossible a hierarchical society like say, ancient China with clear class divisions where an upper-class who lived luxuriously ruled over a large peasantry that had to work in the fields all day and get tanned would favour light skin. Your worldview is essentially an ahistorical romanticisation of my culture, which inhibits the honest discussions needed to combat Asian colourism.  Of course European/Western colonialism has reinforced this colourism, but we can’t forget the intra-Asian roots where they exist (and indeed do exist!).
