there is a town about an hour away from me that is slowly being swallowed by a saltwater lake- there was a whole playground out in the middle of the water when i visited and a dancehall (with an actual horsehair sprung dance floor??) has had a huge dam built around it to keep it from going under

monk is one of the most heartbreaking characters ever and like the comedic aspects only magnify HOW FUCKING.... HOW MOTHER FUCKING SAD IT IS! GOD

im honestly sitting here in psychological agony, trying to think of any character i’ve found more heartbreaking and while there are characters who are waaay more “my children.” i think this is it. im watching one funny slapstick bit after another about a severely depressed guy whose happiest possible ending is finding his wife’s murderer...
