Well it's official, Joe Carnahan (director of "The Grey" and "Smokin' Aces") is directing a remake of "The Raid" starring Frank Grillo. As you can see, apparently the remake is going to be different from the original. It's a "reimagining". To be honest, I can't see why anyone would want to remake "The Raid". It's the perfect action film. Surely, a remake won't come close to the original. I like Frank Grillo. I like that he's tying himself to martial arts based productions. I just don't see him breathing new life into this proposed remake. I might eat my words. Maybe they'll pull off something unique and different. I actually loved "The Grey" and thought that it was super original.
