I'm going to be a god father! Protos' wife is pregnant. He invited me out to a dinner, to catch up on all the things we've been doing. When he broke the news to me, needless to say my reaction made the whole restaurant look at us. It was embarrassing, but I couldn't be happier for my friend and wonder if his child will take more after my friend or his wife. Protos is a classic dinosaur monster, Thick tail, sturdy body, large clawed feet.
His wife is more delicate, she has a thinner build with a long but sturdy crest on her head and her arms also double as wings. I must admit it is quite interesting, watching the way she using the laws of aerodynamics to lift herself into the air or how she just steps off a building and glides where she needs to go.
I still cannot think of appropiate words to express how I honored and happy I feel about the situation. What makes it even better, is he talked about improvements he helped to make to current solutions and procedures for the science of Infans.
...I know you're a journal... But, I feel like I need to explain what it is?... Oh well, Infans is a science that studies how babies are created. As you know monsters are made from magic, as such there are large variety of us. From mammals and reptilian, to elementals, to skeletons and Ghosts, and even some that are extremely hard to classify.
This can sometimes make reproduction hard, not so much for mammals, reptiles, and bird. However, for the rest of us that drew the short straw in the life of families. We can't start a family quite in that manner. As such, thanks to evolution, we have developed another method by which to reproduce and this involves mixing portions of our core magic to try and create a new soul, a new life from it.
This is a must for monsters such as myself, however I know several same sex families that use this method as well. If you ever get a chance to meet the rainbow fish family, I suggest you do, they are quite stunning... Why do I keep acting as if you are a physical being?
Anyway, this way of reproduction has a much greater chance of failure than what is considered 'natural'. That is part of the reason there aren't as many of us around as some other types of monsters. However, this also means gene pools get indescribably smaller with each generation. To the point of risking disappearing for good sometimes.
That is why Infans was founded, to help find a way to keep us going to give us another chance to reproduce. Now the 'normal' monsters like to call babies made from this maybe 'tube' babies or unnatural, but they don't have to ever have to worry about the possibility that their species disappearing... It isn't a pleasant feeling. The chance of it working may not always be great, but it is still a chance and sometimes that is all some people need... Ok, I think I am done talking about this... I'm going to go check a couple of projects now.
