How to calculate GATE score?
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi will release GATE 2020 scorecard in the fourth week of March. Candidates can check the GATE scorecard 2020 on the GOAPS official site. IIT Delhi conducted GATE exam 2020 on February 1,2,8 and 9. IIT Delhi organised GATE in online mode (computer-based test). Scorecard can be accessed after the GATE result 2020 gets declared on March 16. The validity of a GATE scorecard is upto 3 years. Candidates can check the details namely - marks achieved by the candidate, cutoff marks and candidate’s rank. In case a candidate fails to secure minimum qualifying marks in GATE 2020, then he/she will not be issued with GATE scorecard 2020. There are a total of two formulae to calculate GATE score. One is for the calculation of normalized marks (score) for multi-session papers and another one is for the calculation of score for the single session paper.

What is a Valid Score in GATE?
IIT Delhi will release the qualifying cutoff of GATE 2020 along with the result. Candidates can check the cutoff to know the GATE valid score. GATE exam 2020 was held on February 1,2,8 and 9 2020. GATE admission cutoff and qualifying cutoff are two different terms. Qualifying GATE 2020 cutoff, if achieved by a candidate, is a confirmation that he/she has passed the exam. On the other hand, admission cutoff is a minimum score which needs to be achieved to have higher chances of admissions into the M.Tech courses offered by NITs, IITs and other prominent institutes. The admission cutoff for each institute will vary as per their own rules and specifications.
IIT Delhi will release GATE score card 2020 on March 20. Candidates can check the scorecard on the official website. The score card can be accessed after the GATE result 2020 is declared. This year GATE 2020 was conducted by IIT Delhi. A candidate is said to have attained a valid GATE score only if he/she has achieved the marks which are equal to or more than GATE score of qualifying marks.
For example, if the qualifying marks is 30, then in order to achieve a valid score one must get marks equal to or more than 30. Candidates who fail to qualify GATE will neither be allotted ranks and will not be issued GATE Scorecard. The minimum qualifying GATE cutoff varies with various subjects. Each and every different category has different minimum qualifying cutoff. For instance, candidates under SC/ST category can have x cutoff whereas general candidates can have y cutoff.
