can you tell me about your wyverns?? specifically gavriel but them in general too!!
hello!! omg. i can! i’ll be releasing full rundowns for wyverns as a species over on @oldnarnia when i have all the graphics and art ready, but i can tell you a little about gavriel now!
--- and when the news of the great narnian thaw reached archenland’s capital, the once-mourning wyvern picked up his sword and rode through the mountainous regions ‘til he broke the western woods. further on, and further in to narnian territory did he ride, ‘til he stood upon the fields of beruna and pledged his sword and fire to the soon - to - be king with nothing more than a knowing stare .
2 of the five wyverns of narnia ! gavriel of the thorn, wyvern of the narnian country, and dalit of the depths, wyvern of the merfolk kingdom. i’m gonna be cleaning these up and drawing the rest of their siblings soon.
gavriel, of the thorn, wyvern of narnia. son of the pyre.
if you ask those of a romantic, or hopeful, disposition, they would recite the tale of gavriel of the rose , housecarl to the great high king of narnia , the fourth seat of the most noble order of the lion . but if you stumble upon an old narnian who knows the truth , like prince caspian did trufflehunter , you would be met with the tale of gavriel of the thorn .
and sadly , his tale was far too akin to the telmarine interpretation than any child would have liked. the young prince knew wyverns to be fictional, proud beasts --- resembling man when they pleased , dragon - like for their masters and grand beasts . the young prince knew how the narnian wyvern fell to madness in the absence of his high king , and some claim , his betrothed .
gavriel of the thorn.
knight of the most noble order of the lion, housecarl and guard to high king peter, the magnificent.
