I also believe more in the staying home ending. Even though it’s more painful I think in the long term it’s better. And realistically the listener also has people they care about like family and close friends that I don’t think anyone would like to give up on AND Breckett has the chance to do what he wanted to do and fight in the war and close a chapter in his life without the subject hunting him. And I like to think that after they meet when the earth opens to the rest of the universe that they travel. The listener seemed curious about space and they could visit planets and that gives a chance to breckett to experience the new world without the bad situation.

And I also think that differences in species meets different senses. Not a VERY big difference but humans can have better hearing and smell but I think that breckett could have better eye sight and balance

AND idk that might be my dumbass but I think that there could be a slight difference in body temperature. Breckett mentions a lot when they are on cold planets “YOU must be freezing” and that doesn’t mean that he doesn’t feel it but he feels it not so strongly, like humans when it’s summer bearable but not necessarily comfortable. So when sleeping I like to imagine that he feels like a cold pillow

OOOOO THIS IS INTERESTING KEEP EM COMING.. Also you and me we see each other when it comes to the staying home ending. I like the ending because it adds more angst and creates more character depth for both the listener and Breckett. I also just really like the idea of badass soldier Breckett and him being old friends with Hakir before the events of Starline 2. I think Breckett would also react differently to different textures. Example: In my head he wears a black suit that feels like reptile skin but much rougher and more thick so it acts like a thick hide. To him it could feel like nothing but bumps against his skin whereas the listener it would probably scrape you if you rubbed against it wrong. So BECAUSE Breckett is partially amphibian in my world he most definitely has better senses under water versus above ground. That doesn't mean he's utterly helpless above ground, he's just probably a little more prone to getting flanked than others, like Hakir. I'm also completely against the idea that his tail is like sensitive as fuck. The tip of the tail? Ticklish, but not overtly sensitive. And depending on the opponent he's up against it could also be very useful in a fight. Your body temperature theory put a funny image in my head of Breckett burning his ass off on Earth during summer and then just looking at his partner who is unphased, perhaps a little irritated, but not dying like Breckett is. Normally if he's on a hot planet it's to run a quick errand. But because this is his partner's home planet he has endure a whole vacation of heat.
