Gods of Egypt?  Seriously?

So late last week, a friend sent me a flaming bag of dog doo Slashfilm link to a couple of movie posters and a trailer concerning some upcoming flick called Gods of Egypt.  I admit to being blissfully unaware of this sensory monstrosity til now, and though I’m not one to judge on appearances alone, I get the feeling that this encroaching train is going to wreck pretty hard when it hits theaters.  You can catch the trailer below, or check out the Slashfilm site for the posters, too:

Unreasonably bright?  Shamelessly cheesy?  Unnecessarily showy? 

Yes, yes, and yes.  And that’s not even getting into the accusations of whitewashing.

Gods of Egypt will premiere February 26th, but with this much vitriol already against it, it’s going to take some serious divine intervention to avoid a major flop in the box office.
