Risky "ask", but... I made Runi say fuck.
I'm sorry.
Illegal. Illegal. And even more illegal is to expose stonekrovns' secret bike helmet diet.

Gitta and Prue's recent departure has had me thinking about Team Rocket! They were supposed to be their older siblings, right? I might be trying my luck here since this is sort of spoiler territory, but since they're cut characters... would Team Rocket have been dismayed by the loss (heh) of their sisters?
Ohh my favorite scrapped buddies.
For those who don't know, the doe and stag on the right had a part in the story but were ultimately scrapped after I realized their presence was fueled just by me wanting them there than having weight in the story. Gousla, the grey doe, was Gitta's older sister, and Retter, the tan antlerless stag, was Prue's older brother. You can read more about them here.
In the original plan they were antagonistic towards the main gang due to their grudge with Kasko, always popping by trying to mess things up for them just like Team Rocket. But after learning about the deaths of their siblings they'd have to stop everything, turn more grey and towards the end of the comic they'd be on the gang's side towards Antaras.
Doeprince! I have been sending my brother pictures of Kasko daily until he reads Golden Shrike (he's my favourite character). Do you have any suggestions for Kaskos I should send next (I am bored)? :)
This one will surely get him to read my comic.
Any designs insights that went into Eve's tail? Loss either doesn't have one or has a very small one, but Eve's looks vaguely horse-like.
It's just a fun tail. Loss has a tiny one because its has a Wanderer's bodytype. The gods def don't share genetic similarity.
If there are no humans in the world of Golden Shrike, where did Antaras find the McDonald's ketchup to cover his lips with? Checkmate.
The chipmunks run the ketchup industry.
It's interesting to hear that you'd consider removing the halvs from Golden Shrike if you were to begin writing the story today, considering that it's named after one of them. Although, I seem to remember reading somewhere that you haven't always been satisfied with the name "Golden Shrike" either (and also that the "Golden" part moreso refers to the colour of Runi and Nero's fur than Nero's halv specifically).
Which sort of makes me curious: in all the time you've spent thinking about GS, have you ever thought about what you may have named it if it WASN'T called what it is now?
I never liked the title! I simply wanted the comic out and had to force myself to come up with a title. Golden Shrike it is.
Since I just lie in the bed I made back then, I haven't brainstormed a better one. Maybe the name would be something astronomical and poetic. One word title. I like those.
Kasko's eyes are MADE OUT OF Boneslav's gums?????!?!?!
No, no. Boneslav's gums are made of Kasko's eyes.
(reference to the tidbit on Toyhouse that Bones' gums and Kasko's eyes share the same color hex)
Could birds that can mimic sounds and voices become halvs, such as parrots? If so, could they be taught to speak the deer language?
All GS creature types have different ways of communicating and it doesn't necessarily translate well to other types. I like to think that while the comic's characters communicate through text, it's also a sum of body language and deer noises. For example, stonekrovns have their own way of talking because their bodies make noises not fit for deer, they have waggy tails, different mouths and quirks, but their speech comes out accented in the bubbles because they have to speak to Grasslanders without those things.
So a bird without deer body language would always be a inferior conversationalist. They have a different state of 'humanity' in lack of a better word too, and it wouldn't translate well in the same speech with the deer.
Birds speak differently than deer, but they have a link that gives them understanding.
