{The sun is out today, but Charlie couldn't feel the heat of it through the cold window. It had started getting warmer and then suddenly the temperature had dropped, like how she had started to come to terms with not needing Devin in her life. And then suddenly, she had fucked up. Christ, she shouldn't have kissed him. That had been a huge mistake. It's hard to forget about the way his lips feel now, and the strong curve of his hand around her waist. The rush of heartbreak happens all over again, and all because she couldn't control herself around him. But she had to learn to live with it. Because Charlie isn't leaving the group. And she's not about to make Devin leave either.
Pressing her palm against the glass, Charlie shudders at the chill it rips through her spine. Today would be cold but maybe winter is on its way out. And Charlie could move past the death of her best friend and the loss of her heart. Or maybe it will stay cold, and she'll just become numb to both.}
