GLENDALE’S PRIDE EVENT ;
To celebrate the closure to relatively eventful month, the facility has decided to thrown in a last-minute pride garden party that’ll officially occur this weekend from Friday, June 23rd to Sunday, June 25th! Both patients and staff members alike are highly encouraged to join this event as a way to remind ourselves the importance of love and acceptance, particularly alongside and for those within the LGBTQ+ community, and they can still celebrate even when they’re not able to participate amongst those marching outside of the building. There’ll be decorations and special meals, a movie night, and a two-day garden party for all the residents to enjoy. During these events, displays of affection will be less supervised; patients can ask for permission to bring gifts for their friends (and beyond ) through willing staff members, they can ask and wear flag stickers to be put on their clothings, decorate the building with those stickers with fellow patients or even the staff and even book the stage for them to perform during the garden event. These decorations will remain until this month is officially over.
Starting from Thursday, June 22nd; residents can begin decorating the building as well asking staff members for a requested uniform for the garden event. Be mindful that, much like the Valentine’s event, you are still not allowed to wear anything with zippers, laces, or anything that could be deemed harmful. You can have your characters’ face painted, but it must be under high supervision of a staff member. Staff members will provide colorful tops, hair bands, wrist bands, stickless flags, and stickers that your character can choose to identify themself.
On Friday, June 23rd, the facility will hold a movie night. Patients who’ve chosen to participate will be encouraged to gather in the common room where plenty of movies will be played, and there’ll be food such as pizza, rainbow cupcakes, brownies, and other special treats awaiting to accompany them. The movie night will begin at six pm and ends when the night is wrapped up.
Moving on to Saturday, June 24th, the event will take place in the garden and it’ll mostly be a performing night. There’ll be a small stage near the centre of the garden with an acoustic guitar, a cajon, and a wireless mic provided for those who’re daring enough to take the stage. Of course, it’s not mandatory for anyone to perform; they can instead hang around to enjoy the food specifically made by the staff members. There’ll be music playing, and residents can stay outside to watch the stars and relax themselves. During this event, the curfew will be extended to 12 am.
Sunday, June 25th, will hold a soft dance event. Patients are allowed to dress up for this occasion as long as they follow the rules; the garden will be mostly cleared to give these people space to dance with their partners and music will once again be played throughout the night. You are allowed to bring dates.
Lastly, through June 26th to June 30th, although the special events are no longer happening, as stated above the decorations made by both patients and staff members will be put up still until the month is done.
We’ll be once again using different tags for each event; #gdievent:pdecorating for Thursday, #gdievent:pmovienight for Friday, #gdievent:pperforming for Saturday, #gdievent:pdance for Sunday, #gdievent:pafter for the rest of the month (optional; you may begin threading normally again by this point)
Please remember that these events are all compiled to celebrate PRIDE month and we all ask you to be respectful of it and its meaning should you decide to participate.
If you’re unsure of anything, please, please don’t be afraid to contact the main.
Have fun! Hopefully you guys enjoy these!
