There's a post going around where some of the responses to it are just obnoxious?
I once worked at a job in which NOT wearing heels would have got me reprimanded, if not sent home. So the option of "just don't wear them" doesn't actually apply to everyone depending on their job. (Is it shitty that there are still jobs and industries that enforce that outdated mess? Yep. But we can't deny that jobs with those standards still exist.) And for the industry that was ACTUALLY the topic: acting in Hollywood? Think about the reaction every time a female celebrity goes to an award show NOT wearing heels. Unless they're injured, they get questioned all night. They're expected to present themselves a certain way when it's work related: interviews, premieres, award shows, etc.
All that was needed as a rebuttal to the initial gif set was to compare her costume to the other actors costumes. You'd make the point you wanted, "her costume really wasn't that bad so she has no room to compare to discomfort of theirs." That's it. You could even use some snark. In the first gift set the actress sarcastically asks "did I have the most comfortable costume or" to which the answer could have been "yeah. All she had was a thick tracksuit and a helmet." Done deal.
There was no reason to act like style and presentation requirements aren't real things (especially in an industry like hers and my former) even if they are stupid and outdated, and there sure as shit wasn't reason to bring up a completely unrelated industry where how the employee LOOKS is NOT a part of the job.
