Inimicus didactylus, also known as Demon Stinger, Devil Stinger or the Indian Ocean Walkman is a member of the Inimicus genus of venomous fishes, closely related to the stonefishes. It can reach a body length of 25 cm and is irregularly surfaced with spines and a knobby appearance. The fish has venomous spines to ward off enemies. The fish are nocturnal, and often dig themselves partially into the sandy seabed during the day. The body is red or sandy yellow and well camouflaged on sandy and coral seabeds. Nyepi is coming! Nyepi is a Balinese "Day of Silence" that is commemorated every Isakawarsa (Saka new year) according to the Balinese calendar (in 2017, it falls on March 28th. It is a Hindu celebration celebrated in Bali. The Ogah-ogah are paraded through the streets the day before to scare away the evil spirits, then the following day there is silence throughout the island from 6am until 6am the following day.
