I've been mulling over whether or not to make my Gem!Toffee AU a thing. I've been thinking about drawing for it a little bit, and writing a few prompts. I def wanna go somewhere with PD's Spinel and my Festive Spinel being nicknamed Meteora and Festivia.

Placement: Left hand (back of palm) Original Purpose: Construction of starships Original Court: Yellow (Crystal Gem) Era: 1 Weapon: None Other Abilities: Fires lasers from eyes (for welding purposes), can drain energy from organic sources Current Activities: Lives in Little Homeworld, helping with construction

I’m going for a gem!AU/Steven Universe!AU this week.

I did some research and found these beautiful gems: Blue Star Sapphire and Red Star Ruby. What I’m doing here is basically redoing the meeting of Ruby and Sapphire from the show, but in a slow development of feelings.

Keeping the idea that Sapphires are regal gems while Rubies are pretty common, Lance aka Blue Star Sapphire is a high class gem kept under the care of a Diamond (Blue Diamond or White Diamond) and Keith aka Red Star Ruby is assigned as his guard.

Keith is a little more rare than normal Rubies, which makes him special but also a little excluded. Being quite rare, Lance is like a bird in a golden cage, his guards being the only contact he gets outside of his Diamond.

Lance always thought he would never find someone that truely cared for him. And Keith had two instructions: protect the Blue Star Sapphire, and not get attached to him. Both find confort in each other and slowly fall in love, against all societal rules.

I imagined if it was to be set in Steven Universe, Keith would have been assigned as Lance’s guard after Steven’s trial. Once Steven is back on homeworld, he somehow meets them and since he already know his own Ruby and Sapphire, he suggests calling them something else. He just comes up with Keith and Lance, probably because of a show he loved as a kid and both accept it, it makes them even more special.

It was a nice month, I hope we can have more before and after the last season!! <3 <3 <3

stayed up till 2 am again, another gem!au tony, this time Tanzanite. don’t worry abt the diamond/homeworld insignias, he rebels sooner or later ofc, cant take much more keeping silent and not creating things, and then he discovers earth....he becomes an inventor and a hero, a protector of earth and humans, part of a team of avenging hero gems on earth.... :)
