A Steven Universe OC I've had sitting in my folders for months but for some reason didnt upload it???? Anyways this is May (might change her name but I couldnt think of anything else). Her mom is a pearl that wasnt able to handle breaking away from her owner, but got inspiration from Rose to try to make her existence meaningful while also....kind of ceasing to exist. A win-win, in her eyes. A Pearl doesnt nearly have the same power as a diamond, so she probably wouldnt have survived if not for Steven helping. Steven kinda treats her like his own daughter, since they're both gem/human hybrids. He tries really hard to make sure she doesnt feel the same way he did while he grew up a hybrid. 

  Since Steven puts it upon himself the most to raise her, she's adopted the last name Universe. Though Steven DOES have a life of his own with Connie, so she spends a lot of her time with the Crystal Gems as well.
