I feel like today was a surprisingly productive day for me, even work wasn’t all that bad which is a surprise in itself. I helped the cutest little girl find a great pair of shoes then I went home and finished up on a commission I needed done by next week. Now I have nothing to do, so someone should either come hang out with me or go to Fred’s with me. I’m always down for a beer.
I know it’s only the beginning of September, but I’m like extremely excited for October to roll around. Halloween is basically my favorite holiday out there and I’m bound and determined to watch all the scary movies I can without wimping out because of how scary they get. I need to plan an early scary movie watching session. Anyone want to join me? I can supply all the candy and snacks!
I’ve been practically living off energy drinks and coffee for the past two days with my long shifts at Fred’s and I think I forgot what it felt like to be thriving on caffeine and just caffeine alone. I need a nap or a medically indused coma at this point.
Today my mother proceeded to show up at my apartment at what felt like was the crack of dawn, but was probably only eleven, and tell me that my apartment was a wreck and started to clean. You’d think she didn’t have seven other children she needed to worry about. That’s probably what happens when you’re the disappointment of a child. I would say I need a drink, but I have to work at said bar tonight, so someone come entertain me during my shift.
I’m like 99.9% sure that my older sister snuck at least two more boxes of diapers even though I told her I had plenty from the baby shower. She’s been a major worry wart since moving in with me the third trimester, I appreciate the help since I definitely need it, of course, but she’s a bit overbearing sometimes. I’d ask someone to come help break me out of the house for a break, but I doubt I can move too far.
So, I’m officially twenty-five years old and I’m not quite sure how I feel about being closer to the age of thirty than twenty. The major plan is to get in some sleep after my morning shift then who knows what’s going to happen after that. I frankly have no idea how the day is going to go after having a puppy left on my porch as an early gift. Maybe I’ll end up splurging and buy myself some new art supplies. The options are endless! I mostly just don’t want to be yelled at while at work. Here’s hoping it’s a happy freakin’ birthday to me.
After work today I spent the majority of my time painting a new piece that randomly came to me towards the end of my shift. I for sure needed that time to relax and just focus on something I really love. My hands ache like none other though so I think it’s time to preoccupy myself with something else. I think a trip to the diner may be overdue. I need something sweet to eat like stat.
Have I ever said how much of a pain it is to work at Footlocker? Because it really is. Sure, it brings in the money when I’m not doing many commissions in the mean time, but children throwing tantrums because we don’t have the shade of purple they want for their sneakers makes me a bit insane some days. Today was one of those days. Oh boy do I need a drink.
