Bible quote of the day
Genesis 12:13 - 12:16 "Please say that you are my sister so that it may go well with me because of you, and that I may live on account of you."
It came about when Abram came into Egypt, the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful.
Pharaoh's officials saw her and praised her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
Therefore he treated Abram well for her sake; and gave him sheep and oxen and donkeys and male and female servants and female donkeys and camels.

Genesis 20:1 - 20:2
Now Abraham journeyed from there toward the land of the Negev, and settled between Kadesh and Shur; then he sojourned in Gerar.
Abraham said of Sarah his wife, "She is my sister." So Abimelech king of Gerar sent and took Sarah.
Yes. Just go ahead. Tell your wife that she must act as your sister in order to save your life... For HER sake. Even if it means that another man thereby can claim her (Not to mention the fact that she is indeed treated like an object rather than a person - though it is no surprise as women have little or no worth in the Bible anyways). Abraham and Sarah (they were both renamed after the first incident), who are undeniably a big part of the bible, went through this twice.
