EVENT UPDATE: 003

After spending the night in the grocery store building, the sun has finally risen and it is once again safer to travel. The walkers outside of the building have scattered and seemed to have forgotten about the survivors' presence inside. However, their numbers are still quite large, and it would be unwise for any of the survivors to exit the building without a plan.  After constructing a plan to exit the building, killing as little walkers as possible, the group of survivors decided to investigate the school next door to the store. Where they had seen lights and movement the night before. The inside of the school reeked of death, and they knew they had to be careful entering the building, for they didn't know what really lied ahead.  To their surprise, the colonists encountered another, smaller, group of survivors locked up in one of the classrooms. There were two men who appeared to have been in that classroom for weeks, and two women who possibly encountered the others just several days ago. They had plenty of supplies and food that could be extremely useful to the colony, and after telling them about their safe haven, they agreed to go with them.  The new survivor colonists include:

Sebastian Ridge (a 29 year old male)

Sonia Jimenez (a 37 year old female)

Finn Baldwyn (a 28 year old male)

Nadia Hari (a 33 year old female)

There is no set rule on how to play out the events, as long as you keep the roleplay open to the plot changes. You may continue threads about the colonists' night at the grocery store, and build up to this point in the plot. The event will be extended until 9PM EST Wednesday, October 23rd.]

EVENT UPDATE: 002.

While the survivors spent their time gathering supplies in the grocery store and pharmacy, Zane Bennett stayed outside to keep watch. It seemed that Zane forgot that the walkers were alerted by noise and began to yell to the other colonists, warning them that the sun was going down and it would be dangerous to stay too much longer. This attracted a nearby walker, and after a heated incident and more noise echoing through the streets of Manhattan, a hoard was attracted and Zane was surrounded. Zane went down with a fight, killing numerous infected, but was inevitably overpowered and devoured by the walkers. Whether or not his body will reanimate remains to be unseen.

The hoard of walkers stayed gathered outside the only exit of the building, leaving the survivors locked inside. Deeming it wise to stay overnight in the building, wait for the walkers to go into lurk mode, and for the sun to rise, the survivors made camp with their findings. Across the street, movement could be seen. The movement was quicker than that of a walker. Upon further observation, the building that the movement was seen in was a school, possibly one that housed small children. Lights that appeared to come from flashlights were also noticed through the windows of one of the upper floors.

EVENT UPDATE 001.

After the scouting group had gathered at the gate for departure, they headed down the zombie-infested street and managed to make it passed without alerting the hoard ahead. The colonists displayed greater stealth and problem solving skills than predicted to survive this obstacle. There were few walker fatalities, all of which were done tastefully and quietly.

Further down the street and into the Manhattan area, the group ran across a two-story grocery store, complete with a pharmacy on the lower level. While the upper floor hasn't been checked for walkers, the supplies inside the building were too useful to pass up. The survivors must be careful when entering, not only because of walkers, but because the buildings in Manhattan seem to have deteriorated quicker than anticipated. This was more than likely caused by the dense population of infected individuals in the area.

From this point forward, the survivors must be very mindful of their surroundings. They must decide what supplies are most useful to bring back and how much they can carry.

COLONY REPORT: 001

After 87.3% of the United States population was affected by the Geno Virus, we broadcasted a message throughout all media outlets, encouraging every survivors to travel to a military safe-zone in Manhattan, New York. There was no safe-zone, but if there was any hope for the chosen survivors to rebuild and create a better world on their own, they had to be together.

We waited and watched as every chosen survivor traveled to New York. Instinctively, some of the survivors grouped up as they encountered other humans, increasing their chances of getting to the safe-zone. Four separate groups of 30 total survivors have grouped together in search of the "safe-zone" in New York.

Upon arriving, the survivors realized there was no military safe-zone and started to establish a town-like haven near Manhattan. There has been a wall built around a two block radius to keep infected out of the colony. The wall appears to be built by debris and scraps found in surrounding buildings. The refuge contains a hotel, a gas station, three clothing stores, and a small restaurant.

As expected, personality types seem to be clashing. No plans of action have been sought out despite the fact that supplies are running low. Most all of the perishables in the colony's gas station and restaurant have gone to ruin. There is enough food and drink to sustain the colonists for under two weeks depending on ration sizes. From the observations made so far, the survivors have 20.3% chance of surviving.
