Hardly get the credit ..we hardly get to BENEFIT FROM IT!
You're a great ally!!!
When some people say they’re “tired of hearing about racism,” they’re usually expressing:
Discomfort with the topic
Feeling overwhelmed or defensive
Belief that the issue is exaggerated or already addressed
That’s different from “Black fatigue”, which refers to the lived, ongoing impact of racism, not frustration with discussing it
“Black fatigue” = experiencing the burden of racism
“Tired of hearing about racism” = reacting to the conversation about it.
Those are not equivalent, and mixing them can minimize real experiences. This is often the goal of people who use "Black fatigue" in response to a comment about racism.
“Some people express fatigue with conversations about racism, which isn’t the same as experiencing racism itself.”
