This is another geode slice! This is the second man made dyed geode I have. Now, this is supposed to be regular man made clear crystal quartz. However, this piece has been treated with dye during it’s process of forming. But I still find it to be pretty, so that’s why I got it. So, I’m going to tell you how to tell if a geode is dyed! See that super dark colored part in the middle? This is where the dye was implanted in the quartz during its formation! As the geode formed and grew larger, the ball of dye burst and stayed in the geode in clumps, giving this geode pink lines of dye. This even affected the clear parts of the geode, giving it a very slight pink tinge to it. Also, see how those spiderwebs of pink dye just going on throughout the piece? This is another sign that it’s man made. On the outside of the geode, you can see mass dyed areas of pink which is also a sign of man made dyeing. You can use this for reblogging to aesthetic blogs, just don’t remove credit please. ;)
