aaa its been so long i have to remember. i’m generally very canon compliant and i’m a fan of find everything through being a fan of the devs as streamers, so i try not to get too fandom-y gfhjk, but let's see ...
well, for plane traveler especially, it's a little hard to speak on him because of how little there is, we have TEST_MAP and then 0.2 gave us geo metric and their dialogue and that's IT. (while ▢rst▢n and The Sky Needle? informs us more on their situation, i never really cared for connecting ▢rst▢n directly to the plane traveler - this is just something that happens once you slip out of bounds imo)
but, anyhow, just comparing how ▢rst▢n is vs plane traveler, my headcanon is that he already knew about the. falseness? of their world. or at least had an inkling. prior to 0.2, i assumed that the plane traveler was something malicious trying to get IN. post-0.2, it's clear that she's trying to get OUT. into OUR world. the real world. i don't think he actively sort out the seams of his world and just slipped out like ▢rst▢n, but i think he knew. i think he had a. curiosity. perhaps this is was something kept from geo. and this time spent out of bounds only exacerbated and corrupted this curiosity into something more active, gaining more knowledge. he doesn't seem so preoccupied with them and his past life now, does he? and, i mean, the door is right there. she could leave, couldn't she. but she doesn't ?
