This is a first preview of the book I designed and illustrated for the infamously cool geographic page: https://lnkd.in/g4rBeS6E Published by Dioptra Publishing. It is a book guiding clueless people, like me, around the world through really cool geography based stories. It gives answers to frequently asked questions and misunderstandings about the world and what's on it! I had so much fun creating this book and learned so many things, I really am very proud about this project. Moving precipitates emotional and existential crises for me. I suspect it does for everyone, but I know it does for me because I just did it for the 10th time since graduating college.

I had this map of the Earth by Night since 2008, when I got it at a poster sale in Galway, Ireland during a semester abroad (which I didn’t enjoy, but more on that later or maybe never). It made me cry to recycle this. Sentimentality and nostalgia and emotional attachment to things can be a real bitch. I kept this for so long without really thinking about it, because I just liked it. Now that I am thinking about it, I guess it’s because I appreciate reminders of perspective, and because geography is cool. Also, I like the color blue.
