Shit. Here we go, I guess. It’s not fair to lie to the kid, right? “Look, first of all. And yet, yeah, Cloud had broken down some of the walls that long surrounded the lion’s heart. He brought a fluster to his cheeks, made his heartbeat increase tenfold in a way none other had achieved before. So it was safe to say that Squall Leonhart liked Cloud Strife back in the way Denzel was implying.

“But....I mean, it wasn’t the worst.” Just say it right, idiot! “No, what I really mean is....yes, I like him. What he did took a lot of courage, and it made me happy. Got a problem with it, shorty?”

Coming out the bathroom in the middle of the night to a sight like that had been the least of his expectations; Denzel, marker in hand ( was it permanent? ) scribbling across his best friend’s face while said best friend snored, blissful in his sleeping ignorance.
